I'm still waiting for the service manual... Does anyone know if AM34839 is still available. It's the plate that connects the hydro lever to the linkage. I've seen a number of different styles on different 140s which makes me think NLA. Mine is made from 2 pieces of brass, it's too flexible and bents away from the N switch. What are others using?
Also should the cam on the tranny go the full range of available motion. Mine goes the the full distance to the end of the slot in reverse but is an inch short of the opposite end of the slot in forward. It stops because it's at the forward end of the hydro lever guide. I'm thinking it's out of adjustment.
I spent the better part of the day fixing little problems. I never knew that points would fire occasionally with just one strand of wire attached to them. I love older small engines, you just have to have spark, air and fuel.
